Medical & Fitness Disclaimer

FitMetricLab calculators are for educational and informational purposes only. They do not provide medical, nutritional, physiotherapy, coaching, or training advice. Results are mathematical estimates produced from the inputs you supply and from published formulas with known assumptions and known limits. They are not a diagnosis, a treatment plan, a prescription, or a substitute for consultation with a qualified professional.
Not Medical Advice
Nothing on FitMetricLab is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition. We are not licensed clinicians, physicians, registered dietitians, certified strength coaches, or sports scientists in any practitioner capacity through this site. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant, are recovering from injury, are on medication that affects heart rate or metabolism, or are otherwise uncertain about how a metric applies to your situation, consult a qualified physician or licensed professional before acting on any calculator output.
No Diagnosis, No Recommendation
No FitMetricLab tool is a diagnostic instrument or a recommendation engine. Output is a number derived from your inputs and a published formula. The site does not tell you what to eat, how to train, when to rest, or whether a measured value is safe or unsafe for you personally. You decide what, if anything, to do with the number.
Limits of the Formulas
Every formula on this site has assumptions and a range of validity. Heart-rate zone formulas, BMR equations, body-composition skinfold equations, and one-rep-max estimators are all approximations derived from population samples; individual error is typical. Where those limits are documented in the literature, we state them on the individual calculator page. Where they are not, we say so. None of these formulas account for individual differences such as cardiovascular conditions, medications, body geometry, training history, genetic variation, or environmental conditions like heat and altitude.
Particular Cautions
- Heart-rate metrics are estimates only. Do not use age-predicted maximum heart rate as a hard ceiling during exercise — measured response varies widely.
- Body composition calculators (skinfold, Navy, BMI, FFMI) are estimates against population samples. They are not body-scan results.
- Caloric and macro tools reflect population-average BMR equations. Real energy needs vary with thyroid function, body composition, NEAT, and other factors.
- Strength standards are reference distributions, not assessments of your training readiness.
- Running and cycling performance equivalents assume comparable conditions; weather, terrain, elevation, and fatigue alter real-world outcomes.
